Did you get any fun musical Christmas gifts? My sister in law sent me some vintage sheet music to my favorite hymn, “Abide With Me.” It’s copyrighted eighteen ninety something and looks really old. I love it and plan on having it framed. I’ll post pictures when I do! (That may be a long time…it takes me a while to do anything!)

I came across this beautiful quote by painter Wassily Kandinsky in describing painting.

Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another…to cause vibrations in the soul.

Kandinsky even said that when he saw color, he heard music. I’m not a huge fan of his paintings, but reading this quote has caused me to look at them in a different way. Here are a few:

When I am rich (haha) and have a big, beautiful house with a separate music room, this art print by Picasso will be a central decorating item. I love the colors, the shapes, the fun, and the music. But for now, since my piano is in my already over-decorated living room, and there isn’t any room for Picasso there, this 8×10 print is framed and placed on a shelf in another room of my house.

What do you use to decorate your studio? Or what would you use to decorate your dream studio?
