Did you read my post about  “The Piano Report?”

I started teaching piano full time when I had my baby. I thought it would simply be a means to an end- a way to stay at home, but still make some needed money. I had no idea how much fun I would have! Or how much I would love my students!

Before I taught piano, I always worked 40 hour weeks for somebody else, doing something I really didn’t like. I wasn’t unhappy- that was just life! Once I started teaching piano, I realized that I can actually ENJOY working! I get to be creative and I get to be the boss. But the most exciting thing is that I get to see my students progress. And then I get to see their confidence improve. I get to see their satisfaction at a job well done through the light in their eyes. So rewarding!

Before I taught piano, I always worked in customer service positions. I developed some fun friendships with a few customers, but I never grew to love any of them. Now, while some of my students drive me crazy from time to time, I can honestly say that I love each one of them. I am interested in their musical growth, of course, but I also hope that they succeed in other areas of their life.

Teaching piano lessons WAS going to simply be a money making enterprise. But I have found myself so much more invested. And I’m happy about it!
