I ADORE these two pieces: Brahm’s Intermezzo in A Major and Chopin’s Nocturne from Op. 55, No. 1. I only have time to learn ONE to perfection before our spring recital. Please help me choose! Listen to each, and tell me which is your favorite! Pretty please!

Hey, Rebecca, I like the Brahms – it would be my 1st choice.
I really like Chopin’s Nocturne! It’s one of my favorite quiet pieces.
The Brahm’s Intermezzo is definitely my favorite of the two! I just learned it and played it at my spring recital last year.
Personally, I find the Chopin a bit boring. I think you should definitely go with the Brahms. It has just beautiful movement to it and a soaring melody.
I agree with Amy. I think the Chopin would lose the audience in the first 8 measures.

I fell in love with the Brahms when I learned it years ago, and it’s a piece I never tire of! The soaring middle section is absolutely gorgeous – and tons of fun to play!!!
