I have a student in the 8th grade who I've been teaching since he was five. At about seven and learning Treble G, Middle G, and Bass G, he objected to this nomenclature, explaining with confidence, "No, that isn't right! It should be Treble G, Bass G, Bass-Bass G, and the next lower G after that should be Bass-Bass-Bass G!" "That's very logical," I said.
