Relax, Share, and Laugh!

Today, I was helping a student pick out a Halloween song to play. She had three to choose from, and after the first one, she said, “It’s a maybe.” So after the second one, when she wasn’t looking too excited about it, I said, “Is this a maybe one also?”
She misunderstood my use of the word “one” and responded seriously with, “No that’s a maybe two.”
One Response for "Maybe One?"
Kids do apply their own kind of logic, and say the cutest things! I have a student in the 8th grade who I’ve been teaching since he was five. At about seven and learning Treble G, Middle G, and Bass G, he objected to this nomenclature, explaining with confidence, “No, that isn’t right! It should be Treble G, Bass G, Bass-Bass G, and the next lower G after that should be Bass-Bass-Bass G!”
“That’s very logical,” I said.
