I love the helpers for remembering notes on the staff.
For right hand lines, I teach EVERY GOOD BOY DOES FINE or EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FUDGE.
Left hand lines: GOOD BOYS DO FINE ALWAYS.
Right hand spaces: FACE.
Left hand spaces: ALL COWS EAT GRASS.
This works MARVELOUSLY for all of my students but one! She is able to remember all the phrases, but mixes up where they belong. For example, she will mix up FACE with ALL COWS EAT GRASS or FACE with EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FUDGE. Any suggestions how to help her with this?

I love your blog! It’s also!
I’m from South Louisiana so our Bass Class spaces are “all cajuns eat gumbo.”
But, to answer your question, they really need only learn the spaces (bass and treble) and they can figure out all of them. You could say that cows are on the ground (bass clef) and our faces are in the air and higher (treble). Just my instantaneous ramblings.
Thank you! I’m going to use that with her this week. I think distinguishing from “ground” and “air” will be perfect for her.
