I was once reminded that students who come across as weird in music class probably come across as even weirder in their other classes and social circles. Since in most cases I am only with students for 30 minutes or so, I try to make sure music class is one place where the student feels safe and accepted. You never know what one comment from a supportive music teacher may do to make the day of a socially-challenged student. Good reminder!
