The two little girls in a group class haven’t made any improvements in the rivalry area.  I thought I would be clever and stop the problem before it started.  So I met the girls at the door and told them they had to look at each other and shake hands before they could enter class.  They had to look each other in the eye and understand that both of them were great.  There would be no room for competition.  We then defined competition and they each gave me great examples of ways they have been competitive in the past.  Great, I thought!  They understand and they know how to behave.  Do you think it worked?  I’ll give you one guess.
