My wonderful husband loves to cook.  So while he was making dinner last night, I pulled out my book of pop songs from the 90’s,

Ten Years of Pop Songs 1990-2000: Remembering the ’90s (arranged by Dan Coates),

and we played “Name That Tune!”  It’s a fun book to play through and last night was a fun trip down memory lane as we remembered belting these songs out while cruising the streets during our high school years.  Ok, to be fair, “we” means “me.”

Pop songs sound a lot different on the piano.  (Or maybe it’s just my piano playing.  I may be “too” classically trianed as I can’t figure out how to make jazz songs sound jazzy or pop songs sound poppy.)  ANYWAY…by far, the funniest song on the piano was Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time.”  As ridiculous as it sounded on the piano, though, my husband got it after just a few chords!  And even though he got it right away, we (of course) had to sing it the whole way through!  Lame-o.
